Health Tips: Snoring

There is nothing more refreshing than a good night’s sleep.

That is, unless it causes your spouse to plan significant harm to you because of your snoring. Being an allergy sufferer I’ve dealt with snoring for a long time but it’s never really caused a problem. It wasn’t until I got married that I realized something needed to be done about it… and fast!

My wife and I decided out first step was to identify the root cause. It seems like the only times I would snore is when I was having allergy issues so treating the allergies seemed to be a good starting point. I had spent most of my life on Claritin, Benadryl, Zyrtec or some OTC/Prescription version them and wanted to replace those with something more “natural” in nature. We had recently started experimenting with essential oils in the home as a way to treat different issues and were *very* impressed with how effective they were. It seemed there would have to be some sort of “recipe” to help with snoring; luckily it didn’t take long to find one.

Put the essential oils in your hand, rub them together and then rub it on the bottom of your feet (specifically around your big toes) before bed time. It doesn’t work perfectly and may not work if you are dealing with more extreme snoring issues (or sleep apnea) but it’s been a Godsend for me and my beautiful bride. Note: Be sure the essential oils you purchase are therapeutic grade. We personally use Young Living EO’s and have been incredibly impressed with both the cost and quality of the product.

Do you struggle with snoring? Have you found anything that has helped?

Full Disclosure: Though I will not offer them for sale through this site my wife and I are distributors of Young Living Essential oils. I am not being paid by Young Living to write this post and am not recommending you use these oils in lieu of visiting a medical doctor. Snoring can be a sign of serious health issues and should be treated accordingly. I have personally found that this helps me but you may have a different experience.
